The first public video from the new Vid Warren Live Set is online.
A brand new video is online here:
http://www.vidwarren.com/freestyle-one-man-band.
I'm super-excited to be able to share a glimpse of what I've been working on.
I cannot tell you how much fun it is to be able to make a whole piece of music at the same time. It's like jamming with two people, three times, all at once!
There are more surprises to come after this. For now, enjoy the video. All of it is improvised and shot in one take.

Check out my new juggling machine.
Returning on Friday from a week of lovely juggling workshops in Berlin, I was inspired to write a piece of juggling software in JavaScript. My first version is online here:
http://www.vidwarren.com/siteswap
So far, the machine will check any siteswap (standard juggling notation for tricks/routines) using any hexadecimal character.
If the siteswap works, it will link to an animation of the trick in action. If not, it will tell you why not. All of this happens in real time without the tedious need to press a button to check every input.
I've already used it to learn a few new juggling tricks and have plenty of ideas for ways of developing it's abilities. Go and have a play!
If you get stuck, try: 612640152
UPDATE:
After some lengthly research I have come up with a method of 'breeding' two juggling tricks. I didn't expect to discover that! I have now intergrated this as a feature so that you don't need to do the work.

The brand new Vid Warren solo set is on its way.
Not wanting to give away too much, all I'll say is that
- It's great to be writing songs with real lyrics!
- The loopstation really does let me do it all.
- I'm loving the rock/funk influence from so much of the music I was listening to and playing whilst growing up.
A couple of taster videos are on the way. This changes everything.

Finished touring the world. I can't wait to do it again.
I believe: 'Leap and the net will appear'. What a fantastic opportunity this was! Touring always comes with experiences and people that I will never forget. Thanks to all the people that made it what it was.
Perhaps most exciting of all for me, Beatrick was born from the beatbox-juggling sharing and passing tricks,
which Tess Cartwright and I have been developing since the summer. This is something brand new; neither of us have it seen anywhere else and the LED-glow clubs and balls bring in a whole new dimension on top. Solo beatbox-juggling is rare enough but there are others out there. To discover a method of collaboration is driving me to bring together the beatbox-jugglers for an orchestra. It will come together piece by piece and this is the first one. Watch this space.
With any luck I'll be touring in some of the same places next year. For stories and photographs from the trip, follow this link:

and to find out more about the show we were touring, visit:

For now, I have some killer material in the pipeline that I've been itching to complete. This Winter's going to feel like Summer.
Welcome to the News section.
Coding is a superpower. Fact. Creating this site is an ongoing project. Coding it all by hand without a CMS means two things:
- My imagination is the limit when it comes to making stuff
-'Overdue' sections will pop out of nowhere from time to time.
It's a worthwhile trade-off and this News section is one of those overdue sections that I probably should have been focusing on when I was PHP-ing myself with JavaScript.
It's here now and I promise NEVER to bore you with site maintenance reports, spam about every gig, or inane mutterings about what I had for tea; this News section is for announcing new projects and keeping you in the loop with new media - audio, video and blogs. After all, isn't that supposed to be why an artist gets a website?
